Historical Rocinha Favela

Description

The itinerary is done on foot, to experience how workers move around the largest favela in Rio de Janeiro. At the foot of the favela, we took public transport (bus/van/motorbike) to the top of the hill. We went down on foot, through alleys, alleys, and the main road, Estrada da Gávea. We will pass through more traditional places in Rocinha. Who does it

Fernando Ermiro

Master's degree in History from the Graduate Program in History, Politics, and Cultural Assets at Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV-RJ). Historian, bachelor's degree in History from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (2006), where he studied the historiographical representation of Nzinga Mbandi: an intriguing African sovereign in Brazilian historiography. Since 2009, he has been working as a coordinator of social and cultural projects. Highlight for the project "Tales of Rocinha: Female Memory in Three Times (2012). He is currently the coordinator of the Sankofa Museum Memory and History of Rocinha. He is part of the social museology network in Rio de Janeiro. He has experience as a researcher and teacher in the field of history, social memory, and identities.
