Description

A journey through the history of the city of Salvador, starting at Praça Maria Felipa, addressing historical and economic aspects of the construction of colonial Brazil.

‌In the center of the first city is the Port of Salvador, with all the marks of intercontinental trade, historical monuments, markets, and further ahead wharves and the nucleus of the city's popular commerce, the Feira de São Joaquim, where we can observe the diversity of colors, smells, and flavors that make up the local culture economy, its sacredness, and its gastronomy.

‌Next, we will pass by the centuries-old Church of Nosso Senhor do Bonfim, patron saint of the state of Bahia, and we will head to the community of Pedra Furada, an old fishing village that now houses an open-air street art museum and a cluster of restaurants specializing in Bahian cuisine.

‌‌We will then go to the neighborhood of Ribeira, where we can indulge in the award-winning and centuries-old Sorveteria da Ribeira, which boasts a menu with a variety of flavors of local fruit ice creams.

‌‌And finally, we will go to the tip of Salvador, to see and witness the sunset at Ponta do Umaitá, which houses an architectural complex dating back to the 16th century, including the old lighthouse that guided the entry of boats into the Bay of All Saints, the Nautical Club of Bahia, the Church, and the Monastery of Nossa Senhora de Monte Serrat.
