Description

The script proposes an immersion in the life and work of Carolina Maria de Jesus during the period she lived in Parelheiros, also revealing the charms of the nature of this region of São Paulo - SP.
‌O The route includes transportation and a light walk through the central region.
In this experience, you discover the historiography of the black presence in the region and its influence on the construction of the local identity.
The tour values and shares oral narratives present in the social imagination and collective memory of those who knew Carolina up close and live on the ground she walked on. We will pass by the Carolina Maria de Jesus Writer's Site, where the house where Carolina lived still stands. You will learn details about the daily life of the family in Parelheiros where Carolina found inspiration for her writing.
We will arrive at Marlene's Restaurant and Emporium, one of the matriarchs of the community, an opportunity to enjoy handicrafts, local products, and be delighted with traditional flavors and knowledge.
Together, we will walk through places that marked the writer's presence in the territory, pass by schools and community spaces, meet residents, leaders.
We will continue to the Church of Santa Cruz, a listed historical heritage site, which is related to the black history of the region and the writer's trajectory.
In the central square, we will appreciate the sculpture in honor of Carolina and reflect on the Carolina Manifesto in the Living Room, and what has changed since then.
To celebrate, we will have lunch at Jussara's Site (meal expenses not included), owned by Alice, guardian of the Juçara palm tree. The table awaits us with homemade cuisine, hot dishes, fresh salads, and desserts that value organic ingredients and ancestral knowledge. We will have a conversation circle with the hostess and an invitation to explore the backyard. It is possible to walk on trails, observe the garden, contemplate the lakes, and experience ecological technologies.
